Unless you have my permission or a proof that this writing is yours through the Library
of Congress, don't even think of copying, duplicating, or SELLING any of the content of
this web site, whether you paraphrase it or not.

The below is a list of questions that are frequently asked.  If you do not have the time to thoroughly read the entire site, be sure you know these.  If you cannot answer these, think twice about bidding on eBay Louis Vuitton items (or course except for what's offered by my recommended sellers who have my additional personal guarantee).

Can the monogram canvas be upside down?

Of course!  If there's no seam on the bottom (Speedy, for example), the other side is naturally upside down.

If the date code (aka "serial number") is correct, does that mean it's an authentic Louis Vuitton article? Absolutely NOT!  Many fakes have a correct date code anyway.
If not "made in France", does that mean it's a fake? Not necessarily!  Louis Vuitton can be made in France, USA, Spain, Germany, Italy, or Switzerland depending on the model.
The seller has a money back guarantee on authenticity.  Is it safe to bid? Almost all fakes come with the promise that is not honored :)
There are many web sites that sell brand new Louis Vuitton.  Am I buying an authentic purse? Any website other than eLuxury.com is offering fakes.  No question.
I do not have a Louis Vuitton boutique in town (or the ones in town won't authenticate).  Is there a way to "officially" have it authenticated? Yes, call 1866VUITTON and ask if you can send it in.  If it turns out to be fake, you probably won't get it back though.
I have no clue about Louis Vuitton, but I do not want to pay $1,500 for a purse to make a gift.  Is there a way to purchase a brand new one for below retail? Nope.  Nobody in the whole world gets a wholesale price.
Is it true that fakes have leather that doesn't achieve the famous "Louis Vuitton patina"? Fakes often don't even use genuine leather.  But many fakes are with quality leather parts that turn the color (and blatantly advertised as such).
Is it true that the "LV" is never cut off? Not true at all.  It's impossible to keep ALL the LV's intact, depending on the model.
Is it true that vintage models are less likely to be fake? Not true!  Discontinued vintage ones are being faked as we speak.
